IMI began life in the UK city of Birmingham in 1862 as a percussion cap manufacturer. Its growth was rapid as the company diversified into other areas such as printing, brass rolling, bicycle components and manufacturing. During those early days, the fledgling company began to develop its expertise in metallurgy, opening its first metallurgy laboratory at the turn of the 20th century. By 1961, a new company, IMI CCI, was formed that focused on the development and manufacturing of a new type of control valve. By 1981 IMI CCI had joined IMI and, through successful acquisitions, built its IMI Critical Engineering division into a major, worldwide valve manufacturing business.

6.1 Installation
Wiring :
1) RED ? Connect to – FT positioner – J4/1 Pos. Enc. SUP (Sensor power supply)
2) WHITE ? Connect to – FT positioner – J4/2 Pos. Enc. SIG (Sensor signal)
3) BLACK ? Connect to – FT positioner – J4/3 Pos. Enc. RET (Sensor gnd)
(Disconnect the original internal position sensor, isolate the old three wires and connect the new ones
