6. Emerson Presents Approved Improve STO Performance and Reduce Risk through Emerson Processes and Project Management Expertise Shutdowns, Turnaround, and Outages (STO) are critical site maintenance operations. Schedule and Safety are key issues during these short-duration, high-risk activities. Customer are looking to increase their STO efficiency through better planning, decreased downtime, and reduced risk. Emerson has proven Tools, Processes, and Project Management expertise which directly impact duration, costs, and safety during these challenging events. Customers tell us they have three main difficulties regarding STO’s: Difficulty developing the necessary scope of work that waste time and resources fixing things that don’t need it, and missing items that do. Difficulty planning the details of the work in advance which leads to surprises and schedule delays. Difficulty executing the STO in a manner that meets time, budget, and quality goals By using this proven Emerson STO Process, Customers can decrease overall maintenance spend and make these events productive and strategic. Emerson can reduce costs up to 30% by conducting upfront scoping, diagnostics, planning and executing on only those assets that need maintenance. By standardizing our STO Procedures we keep the STO on schedule, within budget while performing safely. Applying Emerson’s proven best practices, processes, and intelligent diagnostics, we can help customers meet their planned STO goals/KPIs.? From work scope development to planning the details of the STO, engaging with Emerson will mitigate discovery work, minimize cost overruns and ensure equipment starts-up on time, with no interruptions in a risk mitigated, project environment. 6. Emerson Presents Approved Extend the Protection of Toxic Gas Monitoring to Challenging Sites with Wireless Gas Monitoring Toxic Hydrogen Sulfide gas poses a serious challenge at remote sites. However, the installation and commissioning of conventional gas detectors at these locations is difficult and costly so H2S often goes unmonitored. This poses a safety risk to operators and leads to delays when planned work must be abandoned due to unexpected gas leaks. With the introduction of the Rosemount 928 Wireless Gas Monitor end-users are now able to extend the protection of toxic gas monitoring to remote well-heads and other challenging applications. The 928 provides end-users with a reliable, high performance, WirelessHart solution to the problem of monitoring toxic H2S at difficult sites. Wireless Gas monitoring is a Pervasive Sensing solution that protects your workforce and improves operational efficiency. Undetected Hydrogen Sulfide gas leaks can have a significant impact at remote sites such as wellheads.? These leaks pose a danger to personnel and may cause operational delays when maintenance teams discover toxic gas with portable monitors and planned work must be abandoned.? Wired gas detection is difficult and costly to install and commission at remote sites which often precludes its use. The Rosemount 928 Wireless Gas monitor can quickly and easily integrate into any existing WirelessHart network without the need for cabling, trenching, etc.? The 928 provides end users with an indication of H2S gas concentration prior to sending personnel into the field. This facilitates earlier detection of leaks, increased safety for field operators, and reduced downtime. The introduction of wireless technology has proven to be a simple and cost-effective method to help operators achieve measurable performance improvements at these remote locations.? Adding, a fixed, wireless gas monitoring component to these wireless networks can minimize safety threats and eliminate wasted trips to the field. 6. Emerson Presents Approved How Intelligent is your Isolation Valve? It can be smarter than you think. In this workshop we will talk about some of the instruments used with isolation valves. We will discuss traditional methods that you may be using already and then cover a few things that you might consider. With the addition of some instrumentation, paired with the use of some diagnostic tools, you can ensure your isolation valve will make the grade. We will discuss how you can start to identify issues with your isolation valves before they give you a bad report card. Don’t let your isolation valve get you or your plant a trip to the office. If you have isolation valves in your facility this is the workshop you don’t want to miss. Showing the different options available to our customers when automating an Isolation valve. With the addition of smart instruments on your isolation valve you can have a better understanding of what your valve heath is before it is too late. There are many different options for automating an isolation valve, finding the option that fits the customer the customers needs. 6. Emerson Presents Approved Plantweb Implementation Guide: How to Modernize with IIoT So the plant management wants to adopt IIoT to improve reliability and energy efficiency. Now they want you to deploy it. With so many options, how do you pick the right architecture? How many sensors do you need, and how to connect them? Which standards should you use? Should you use a historian platform or web apps for analytics? What kinds of analytics technology should you use? How do you support mobile devices? How is it integrated with your ERP system? Should the plant be monitored on premise, by corporate engineering center, or outsource to a connected service provider? And how do you keep your plant secure? Should it be a direct deployment or a phased approach? This session helps you make the right choices for your plant. Without proper engineering you may put sensors on equipment which don’t make sense to monitor, or miss out important assets, or measurement points. You may get stuck with proprietary technologies, duplicate functions already provided by your historian, end up with analytics software which is just too complicated to use, or security which is too hard to maintain secure. Over and above the reliability and energy efficiency improvements from IIoT itself, using these hints provides flexibility to adopt new technologies and products as they emerge for even better solutions, getting more value out of the existing historian, maintenance and reliability personnel quickly becoming proficient, mobile data wherever you are, and access to expert opinion. Conduct a discovery session to identify equipment to monitor to solve problems. Deploy a layered architecture based on standards, that integrate and complement existing historian. Easy software tools which hide the complexity of analytics, and web interface for mobile devices. The workshop will help you decide what to monitor on-prem and what to outsource, select security, and implement in phases. 6. Emerson Presents Approved Control Valve Vibration Problems - Monitoring, Predicting, & Avoiding Them Vibration of control valves and piping systems can cause damage to the valve, measurement equipment, and the piping system. There are many ways that vibration is generated and there are options to monitor or predict the vibration levels. Examples will be given of measurement equipment that can be used for continuous remote monitoring of vibration and using this data to identify sources and impact of vibration. Sources of flow induced vibration will be described along with some basic means to estimate their strength. Examples of designing a valve structure as well as a pipe system to minimize vibration or the impact of vibration will be described. Identifying vibration sources can be very difficult without relevant data, which can be used to estimate the potential for damage.? Continuous, remote vibration measuring allows for evaluation of an area of concern or can be used to monitor with the goals of identifying issues as they arise.? The examples show both options in valve selection as well as piping system design that can be considered. The valve selection approach will show how proper selection of the valve package can save maintenance costs, reduce unplanned downtime, and increase availability and overall performance. Remotely monitoring vibration of control valves has led to identification of vibration sources and solutions that had been persistent issues until the measurements were performed.? The?
